I graduated from Hazelwood West High School and went on to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Music Education at Southeast Missouri State University. After teaching Suzuki violin lessons for a year and a half I continued my education at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and there earned my Master’s degree in Music Education.

This year will be my fifth year teaching Orchestra in Sikeston. This year I will be teaching not only Junior High and High School Orchestra, but also Music Appreciation offered as dual credit through Southeast Missouri State University.
Before teaching in Sikeston I taught private violin and viola lessons using mostly the Suzuki method. I lead Suzuki group classes at the Southeast Music Academy along with teaching group classes through schools in the Carbondale area.
I am married to Mr. Heithaus. I have no human children, but I do have 4 fur babies. I have two cats named Minerva and Ginny, one dog named Mozart, and a sugar glider named Charlie.
When not teaching I enjoy playing my violin and viola. I perform with both the Paducah and SEMO Symphonies. I also love to read, cook, sew, and enjoy the outdoors.
